“Dave was very very smart, and he had a lot of challenges in life because of that. He was an inventor and an idea man. He said he would rather be a big fish in a little town than a little fish in a big town. So when we left here that very first day, he knew this was his place. When we moved here, he told me he was never leaving; he was just that dead set that he had found his place to be the big fish. He wore many hats in his time here. He was a fireman, the town marshal, a businessman, the mayor, the water man, and was even known as the ‘silicone king’."
"One day, Dave came into a meeting where all of us unrealistic women were trying to make a plan to ‘beautify’ the town by putting out all these barrels of flowers around at all the businesses and parks. As we were making all the plans, Dave pipes up from the back and says ‘well how are you planning on watering all those flowers?’ and we all just kind of stopped, not knowing how to respond. So, he took over and got an old Chevy truck which he had us paint flowers all over, and he turned it into the town’s water truck. He watered those stinking flower pots for me for almost 15 years.”
